April 2019, the Tech Talent Pipeline held its fourth annual academic summit. Bringing together academics and industry leaders, the goal of the summit was to help NYC-based colleges and tech training bootcamps ensure their curriculum helps current students prepare for roles that are either primarily AI roles or require AI skills. Industry-Informed Courses for High-Demand Tech Careers
Tech-In-Residence Corps is a new model of industry-academic collaboration that addresses the problems of departmental capacity, obstacles to adjuncting, and students’ “applied knowledge” gaps by enabling more tech leaders to directly teach students the most in-demand skills needed for tech jobs in NYC. Data Summit - Imagining Courses in Data
NYC Tech Talent Pipeline held a Data Summit at Etsy, bringing together local tech education and training providers from 11 organizations and 20 industry advisors. In a series of focused conversations, accelerated training providers and faculty met with data scientists, data analysts, and other data professionals from local companies to discuss current and proposed data-focused courses and what industry looks for in entry-level employees.
